If I was a newscaster, showing up at a large man's house to do an interview, I would be sure to let him know if the bottle of Malibu showed prominently in the background. I'd be like, "Sir, are you sure you want that bottle of Malibu to be right behind you? I mean, I like smooth rum as much as the next guy, but the viewers are only going to see a kitchen table and a corner booze rack, and they might get the wrong impression." Or I might film from another angle. Actually, as Hall moved a little, I could see some fancier decanters of booze in the background, which looked like the kind you might refill. But I'm not sure if that's a thing in typical American households...looks like you can get them at Pottery Barn. What's cool about those decanters is that you can pour in the bottom shelf swill for lower-tier guests, like news reporters, and then pour in the good stuff for folks you want to impress, like NFL scouts.
OK, so I like Mr. Hall's style. I used one of those online athlete databases to try to find him as an NFL player so I could see if I remember watching him play. I didn't see the name given to the news channel as being a college player or an NFL player, but he could have been NFL Europe or unlisted because he worked on practice squads right out of high school. Or he's on this list under a slightly different name. I highlighted guys who looked to be around the right age and then marked guys who seemed to play small person positions in red. My favs include Daryl Hall and Death Halladay. And Cory, Corey, or Korey Hall. I also highlighted the Packers and Milwaukee Badgers, a team that went 0-6 in 1925, scoring only 7 points ALL SEASON (and still outscored one team in the league -- the Dayton Triangles, which went 0-7-1 and scored three points all season). And you thought the Jags were bad!
