I don't know for sure if this is the best deal, but it felt like it, anyhow. The last time I needed a propane exchange, I went to Walgreens on McCormick and Monument, which advertised $20 outside but charged me $22 inside. I've seen plenty for $20, some for $22, but what about $15? Effectively, that's what I paid at Family Dollar.
I like my Family Dollar $5 off $25 coupon. I usually get some groceries or other stuff we need. But sometimes I just walk around and waste the coupon because I don't find enough random stuff there to make it to $25. The propane exchange is a perfect item to add to a bottle of soda, a greeting card for my wife, and a some cookies I hide in the freezer from my kids. $25 or a little over, and then $5 off. That makes that $20 propane tank basically $15.
I know, Family Dollar doesn't send out the coupons every single week, and you might not even get them in the mail at all. For those of us who do get these coupons, however, this seems to be a good use. Yes, you have to show up at Family Dollar, and that might not be your style, so take your spouse's car if you're worried about someone seeing you there.
I know, some of you might be able to get this cheaper by going to a propane source to get a refill, but I don't think it's worth the hassle.
