If you're reading this Sunday night before your kids need to attend a new school because Arlington Country Day School closed last week, I feel for you. You weren't expecting to have to deal with this, and it's not your fault this happened. What are your options now? Let me tell you about Grace Lutheran in Arlington, just 15 minutes east of ACDS.
My wife was hired to teach at Grace Lutheran. Just as importantly, our kids were enrolled in the school. If you end up calling Grace, tell them Brian sent you because his kids love the school. I might get a free month of tuition out of the deal, but I'm not sure, since we get a discount with my wife working there. Either way, my kids do love their school. Maybe your kids really liked the atmosphere at Arlington Country Day School, and you're looking for something similar. Then I'd recommend Grace.
We moved here from Wisconsin via Kansas, so we've moved around. Our kids have been in public and private schools. They were in a good Milwaukee Public School, and a good Lutheran School in Kansas. Grace is on par with those schools. That's a big deal, since I've seen some local Jacksonville schools that are not up to the task of educating my kids. That's sad, but it's true.
Not all grades at Grace will have room for your kids. The school is pretty full in some grades. That's a good thing, but it may dictate whether or not you can get your kids in, so I'd call immediately. Check out the website, which I built, at
